Rotation Goal: To provide students with experience that mirrors the roles and responsibilities of an academic clinician. Students will engage in both clinical practice and academic activities, including teaching, precepting, scholarship, and service. Patient care responsibilities will vary based on the faculty preceptor’s clinical placement and may include participation in the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process, including collecting and assessing patient information, developing and implementing care plans, and monitoring outcomes.
Students will also contribute to educational and professional activities such as facilitating skills-based or didactic learning, developing instructional materials, assisting with assessment and evaluation, and supporting research or administrative initiatives. By the end of the rotation, students will understand how academic pharmacists integrate patient care, teaching, scholarship, and service within their professional roles.
